Cy Woods All-Time Roster: Number 25

The countdown rolls on with 25.

Brian Cobb, a running back/linebacker, made the first varsity team in 2008, his junior year, as a running back. In 2009, he moved over to linebacker and served as a team captain. Brian also competed in powerlifting at Cy Woods.

His older brother, Wesley, was a running back at Cy-Fair alongside Sam McGuffie, and he went on to play at the Air Force Academy. Brian went on to play at Tuskegee, a Division II HBCU in Alabama, for three seasons.

I've known Brian since 5th grade; we used to live in the same neighborhood. Back then, he wore cornrows and we always wanted him to grow it out so the end result would be a massive afro. It was actually really impressive.

Sam Roberts, a safety, wore 25 in 2010 and was mainly a special teams player that season. Sam moved to Cy Woods from Michigan in 2008, before his sophomore year.

Jeff Cross, a safety, wore 25 in 2011. His older brother, Johnathan, was a wide receiver for the Wildcats from 2008-09.

Bennett Vaughn, a cornerback, made the varsity in 2012, his junior year, but he didn't play that year due to an injury. He returned in 2013, serving as a backup. Bennett also ran the 4x100 relay for the Wildcats.

Josh Lamance, a cornerback, wore 25 in 2014, but did not play due to an injury.

Austin Greaves, a linebacker, wore 25 in 2015, his senior season. He made the varsity as a safety in 2013, his sophomore year. After that, Austin played his final two seasons as a linebacker and served as a team captain during his senior season. His older brother, Tyler, played as a linebacker in 2013 and 2014.

Adrian Venzor, a cornerback, wore 25 in 2016.
