Cy Woods All-Time Roster: Number 21

Three weeks to go. 21 features the first RB1.

Chris Walker, a human wrecking ball, was the first Wildcat to wear 21. He was the starting running back in 2008 and earned 1st-team All-District 15-5A honors. His brother, Robert (Tre), was a cornerback in 2010. After Cy Woods, Chris signed with Tyler Junior College, but his playing days are now over.

There's a picture of him still in the locker room. He's the one running with one shoe. That picture was taken during a test varsity game against Marshall in 2007. That's Marshall, Texas, not Marshall High School in Fort Bend ISD.

Fredrick Anderson would have made the varsity in 2009, his junior year, but he got into a bit of trouble. He returned for the playoffs, stayed out of trouble, and received a spot start in the Wildcats' bi-district matchup against Westwood. Fred switched to #5 for his senior year.

The next Wildcat to wear 21 was Deonte Davis, a cornerback. He made the varsity in 2010, his junior year, and became a two-year starter for the Wildcats. Along with Josh Holley, Alfred "Bama" Pullom, and Jamaul Tompkins, Deonte was part of the most feared Wildcat secondary ever. His five interceptions puts him in a tie for second place in Cy Woods history with Nick Csatlos.

His younger sister, Deja, competed for the Wildcat track and field team as a sprinter.

Dylan Butsch, a safety, was assigned 21 upon his promotion to the varsity in 2012, his junior year. After gaining playing experience in a rebuilding year, Dylan became a key player on an outstanding defense as a senior.

Conner Treviño, a cornerback, wore 21 in 2014. He rarely appeared on the football field due to injury, but he returned to full strength in time for track season, where he competed as a sprinter. Conner originally signed with McNeese State for track and field but has since transferred to Concordia University in Austin.

One of his older sisters, Kelly, also ran for the Wildcats; she competed in cross country and track, and her specialty was the distance events. After completing her career at Cy Woods, Kelly ran at Texas State.

Ryan Olvera, a starting cornerback in 2015, was the next Wildcat to wear #21. Ryan also ran for the Wildcats, specializing in the 800.

Matthew Roberts, a cornerback, made the varsity in 2016, his junior year. Matt became a starter late that season and also started in 2017. His older brother, Mikey, played as a receiver in 2014.

Trayse (Trace, not Tracy) Holmes, a running back, made the varsity in 2018, his sophomore year. He's the youngest of the Holmes brothers and he's definitely built differently from his brothers. Trent had a sprinter's frame and Taylor was a long, rangy athlete. In contrast, Trayse is a stocky, north-south runner. Trent played as a running back from 2010-12 while Taylor played as a linebacker in 2012 and 2013.

After serving as Darion Morgan's backup at B-back in 2018, Trayse assumed the starting role as a junior in 2019.
