Cy Woods All-Time Roster: Number 10

Ivan Guerrero, a safety in 2008, was the first Wildcat to wear 10.

Colton Huntsman switched to 10 in 2009, his junior year. He was assigned #18 when he was called up as a sophomore in 2008. In the 2009 season, he was given the reins to the Wildcat offense. He served as a team captain that season, the first junior in Wildcat football history to be selected for that distinction. Colton reprised that role again as a senior, which makes him the first 2-year captain in team history.

Colton was one of the greats from the early days, and his name is all over the record books at Cy Woods. He is the Wildcats' all-time leader in passing yards, passing touchdowns, rushing yards, and rushing touchdowns. Colton was a 2-time 1st-team All-District selection in District 15-5A in 2009 and District 17-5A in 2010, making him the only Wildcat to ever earn All-District honors in two districts. He was also the Offensive MVP in District 17-5A in 2010. Colton also ran the 4x100, the 4x200, and the 110m hurdles for the Wildcats.

Well... yeah, the school district is the same, but the UIL saw it fit to change Cy-Fair ISD's athletic district designation.

After concluding his illustrious career at Cy Woods, Colton moved on to the Air Force Academy, where he played as a wide receiver. He is now an officer in the United States Air Force and is certified to fly the F-22 Raptor.

Eric Johnson, a cornerback, made the varsity in 2011, his junior year. He mainly served as a backup in his two seasons. Eric also competed in track and field for the Wildcats, specializing in the jumps. His brother, Jordan, played as a wide receiver.

The next Wildcat to wear 10 was Skyler Covington, a wide receiver in 2013.

Jake Jones was a late-season callup in 2013, his junior year, and was assigned 35. He became a starting cornerback in 2014 and switched to 10. Jake was a solid performer all season long and ended up in a three-way tie with Michael Wirt and Bryson Powers for the team lead in interceptions with 3.

James Fontenot, a cornerback, wore #10 in 2015. James was one of the main backups in the secondary and took over as a starter midway through the season. His identical twin brother, Jamion, was a linebacker and wore #40.

Brighton Gullickson was the backup quarterback in 2016 and saw plenty of playing time in a rough year for the Cats.

Khari Keaton, a defensive back, wore #10 in 2017. He's essentially Michael Stewart 2.0. Mike was a starting cornerback who graduated with me and literally a genius. Khari is in the same mold.

Carson Danner opened the 2018 season as the backup quarterback, but an injury to Jackson Jones opened the door for him and he ended up seizing the spotlight. Carson ran for a school-record 1,141 yards on his way to being named District 14-6A's Most Valuable Player on Offense. Carson also played basketball for the Wildcats.

Carson will continue his college football career at the University of Utah after completing his two-year mission, in accordance with the Mormon faith.

Amari McDonald returned to Cy Woods after spending time at Cy Ranch before his senior season in 2019; he had originally started high school at Woods. He ended up becoming a starting wide receiver and a 2nd-team All-District 14-6A selection.
