Cy Woods All-Time Roster: Number 89

And now, the countdown has reached the second chapter: the 80s. First up is 89. Finally... no more defensive linemen, right? Well, there are a couple. Also a couple of safeties and a linebacker. Most of the players who have worn 80-89 were wide receivers, in keeping with football tradition.

So far, only two players have worn the #89 jersey for Cy Woods, but those two left an indelible mark on the program, as they were both impact wideouts. Also, they were both named team captains in their senior seasons.

Patrick LaFleur was the first Wildcat to wear #89. He was a member of the inaugural team as a junior in 2008, and in 2009, he was selected as a team captain and earned 2nd-team All-District honors in District 15-5A. He also ran the 100 and 4x100 for the Wildcats during track season.

Pat was one of the few players from the class of 2010 to play in college; he originally committed to Bacone College, an NAIA school in Oklahoma. He ultimately finished his college career at Texas A&M—Kingsville.

The next, and last person, to wear #89 was Gary Tesch. He wore 89 during the 2010 season, his junior year. Of course, he switched to #7 for his senior year. More on Gary when I get to #7.
